March 25, 2021; Merida, Yucatan. As part of the Economic Reactivation Plan of the Yucatan State, the Government in charge of Mauricio Vila Dosal, through the Yucatan Tourism Board, presented the tourism promotion campaign “365 days in Yucatan”, that seeks to encourage local and regional travel as part of the economic recovery strategy in accordance with phase IV of the plan “Yucatán Against Covid 19” and as a reinforcement of the promotion campaign #QuédateEnYucatán – #StayInYucatan.

The campaign is made up of an itinerary of 365 activities, with previous existing offer, renewed products and new experiences that are spread throughout the state and that, for at least one year, a daily visit option will be published Yucatan Tourism Official social networks, in the media and through influencers – content creators and opinion leaders, to strengthen promotion with these joint efforts and invite other Yucatecans to add new activities.

During the presentation, it was highlighted that, promoting the local market obeys in first instance, to think with a community approach, where everyone supports each other by consuming what is produced on site, transforming this in employment sources and economic reactivation after these difficult times.

“Tourism is about improving life, both for those who provide a service and for tourists, and today, after the pandemic, it is an activity of community, solidarity and reconnection; and what better way to start that “at home”, because traveling around the state is the best way to support those who promote tourism projects that benefit many Yucatecans,” said Michelle Fridman, Ministry of Tourism of the State of Yucatan.

She added that “we are about to live a new way of doing tourism, one with a greater commitment, which seeks to reconnect with nature, family, friends, and your significant other to recharge with energy. Yucatán offers all that and much more. From the incredible pink beaches, the green jungles, the iridescent blues of the cenotes, the white of Mérida’s buildings and the yellow of Izamal, the colors of traditional handicrafts and a world-class gastronomy”.

At the press conference, an invitation to all Yucatecans to know the complete list of activities was extended. It is listed at https://yucatan.travel/en/unique-experiences/ or through the Yucatan Tourism Board social networks. As a highlight, some of the activities will be available in Maya.

365 days in Yucatán is part of a series of biosafety measures to secure travelers, which began several months ago with the training of more than 1,200 service providers who received certification through Yucatan Good Sanitary Practices Program, which involved strict biosafety measures and protocols with the international endorsement “Safe Travels”, from the World Travel and Tourism Council. These actions are aimed to create “health bubbles” so Yucatecans, and everyone, who travel through the state, enjoy a pleasant and safe stay.

The event was attended by Michelle Fridman Hirsch, Minister of Tourism of the State of Yucatán, Stephanie Carmon, Representative of MidCityBeat, Ulyses Huesca Tercero, Representative of Camino del Mayab, Héctor Alfonso Lezama Ortegón “El Socotroco”, ambassador of Yucatán, Pedro Cervera Xool, Representative of the “Shocking Grottos” in Tekax, Jesús Bobadilla Aguiñaga, Bird Watching Guide and Benigno Ramírez Espinoza, Representative of Apitourism in Sinanché.

All agreed that Yucatan is a privileged territory due to unique natural attributes on the planet. In few places, ancient cultures were able to create art, beauty, and science. Travelers from all over the world travel thousands of kilometers to get to know it and those who live in Yucatán have the possibility of having it at their fingertips, just scheduling a ride on the bus or driving in your own car to peek into its wonders.
