The MPI Bajío Mexicano chapter, made up of 5 states, Aguascalientes, Guanajuato, San Luis Potosí, Querétaro and Zacatecas, held several business and networking events within the first 10 months of its creation.

In addition, 4 educational events were held with more than 300 participants, the first one was held within “Fiexpo Workshop & Technical Visit”, an event of the Meetings Industry that is defined as a platform to build solid relationships, share ideas, learn new skills and inspire innovation.

The MPI Bajío Mexicano association worked as a team with the Ministry of Tourism of the State of Guanajuato, FIEXPO Latin America and ICCA (international congress and convention association) to hold the first educational event of the association at the Tres Raíces Vineyard in San Miguel de Allende.

The second event featured speakers such as Araceli Ramos, Director of Promotion and Public Relations at Casa Cuervo, who led the tasting session entitled ‘Encounters through the Senses’, and Patrick Tirand, Executive Chef at Hotel Villa María Cristina, who spoke about ‘The Importance of Food in Incentive Travel.

The event took place in two spectacular venues: Mina de Guadalupe and Hotel Villa María Cristina in Guanajuato Capital.

Within the third event, work was done with students from the renowned University of Guanajuato, highlighting the importance of the meetings industry in our country. The speakers were the vice presidents of the chapter, with topics of interest, including the Transformation of Tourism and the Meetings Industry, being Alchemist of Events, Meeting Tourism in Emerging Destinations and a panel with the theme, Sustainability in the Planning and Execution of Events.

The event was held in the iconic building of the University of Guanajuato, in the state capital.

To close the year, there was a year-end dinner with a program based on protocol and personal image, for representatives of hotels, restaurants, travel agencies, tour operators, meeting planners, media, among others, achieving rapprochement and resolving doubts before the audience, in addition to attracting new members for the chapter, within the Ex Hacienda San Xavier hotel in the state of Guanajuato.

Salvador de Anda, president of the chapter, highlighted the importance of collaboration, innovation and continuous training for 2025 as fundamental pillars for the growth and success of the community of meeting professionals in the region, always aiming to work for the meetings industry as the objective of the presidency with a renewed commitment to strengthen the network of professionals, encourage professional development and promote excellence in event management.

We work together with the two chapters that exist in our country, through their presidents Alejandro Escalante in MPI Mexico and Huberto García in MPI Mexican Caribbean, showing that we are a single chapter throughout the Mexican territory.
