
TEPIC, Nayarit, July 9 — Air Canada will launch a new direct route connecting Vancouver to Tepic/Riviera Nayarit International Airport beginning Dec. 17, 2025, Nayarit Gov. Miguel Ángel Navarro Quintero announced this week.
The weekly flight will operate every Wednesday, marking the second new international connection from Canada to Nayarit announced in less than a week. The new route follows a recently confirmed service from Calgary and is part of a broader effort to position the state as a premier global tourism destination.

“This inaugural flight marks a significant step forward in strengthening connectivity between western Canada and the beautiful state of Nayarit, Mexico, boosting the local economy with new job opportunities in tourism,” the governor said.

Riviera Nayarit is known for its diverse landscapes, including pristine beaches, tropical jungles, and charming coastal towns. Popular destinations such as Punta de Mita, Sayulita, and San Pancho offer visitors a mix of outdoor adventure, cultural experiences, and luxury resorts. The region also features excellent infrastructure, including the recently expanded Tepic–Puerto Vallarta highway, making travel throughout the state accessible and convenient.
The new direct flight will provide Canadian travelers with easy access to Nayarit’s year-round warm climate, vibrant local culture, and outdoor activities such as surfing, fishing, hiking, and whale watching. Additionally, the state boasts a rich culinary scene and numerous festivals throughout the year, further enhancing its appeal as a travel destination.

“We are proud to welcome this new international connection, which reinforces Nayarit’s growing presence on the global tourism map,” Navarro Quintero said. “This flight will not only bring more visitors to experience our state’s rich culture and natural beauty but also generate opportunities and prosperity for our people.”
According to recent tourism data, Nayarit welcomed over 1.3 million hotel visitors in the first five months of 2025, reflecting a steady increase in international and domestic tourism.
