Palm Springs, California — October 24, 2025 — The Mexican state of Nayarit concluded a successful participation at the International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association (IGLTA) 2025 Global Convention, held in Palm Springs, California. Recognized as the world’s premier event for LGBTQ+ travel professionals, the convention brought together tourism leaders, destinations, tour operators, media, and organizations committed to promoting inclusion and diversity in global travel.
Throughout the event, Nayarit’s delegation engaged in a full schedule of meetings with travel advisors, tour operators, and representatives from major global networks including Ensemble Travel Group, Travel Leaders Network, Virtuoso, and several online booking platforms. Discussions focused on expanding Nayarit’s presence within the LGBTQ+ travel segment through experiences centered on destination weddings and honeymoons, cultural tourism, wellness, nature, and sustainable luxury.
The delegation also met with international media outlets and LGBTQ+ travel content creators, who expressed strong interest in Nayarit’s authenticity, rich culture, gastronomy, and diverse hospitality offerings—from its luxurious Pacific coast resorts to its charming mountain towns and Indigenous heritage.
“Nayarit is a destination that proudly embraces diversity,” said Juan Enrique Suárez del Real Tostado, Secretary of Tourism for the State of Nayarit. “Participating in IGLTA allows us to share with the world an authentic, welcoming, and vibrant state where everyone is invited to feel at home.”
He added: “The LGBTQ+ community is a key segment of modern tourism—travelers who invest more, travel more frequently, and seek destinations that offer genuine and safe experiences. Nayarit embodies all those values.”
According to IGLTA and other industry sources, the global LGBTQ+ travel market continues to grow as one of the most dynamic and resilient sectors worldwide. In North America alone, it generates over $100 billion USD annually, driven by travelers who prioritize inclusive, culturally rich, and safe destinations.

Nayarit’s participation in the Palm Springs convention forms part of its comprehensive inclusive tourism strategy, which aims to diversify markets, promote sustainable development, and strengthen the state’s reputation as a destination that celebrates diversity and authenticity.
In addition to its exhibition-floor presence, Nayarit’s representatives attended expert panels and workshops on LGBTQ+ travel trends, inclusive marketing, and sustainability, sharing insights with delegates from other leading destinations such as Spain, Colombia, Thailand, and the United States.
Nayarit’s commitment to inclusion is reflected not only in its global promotion but also in local actions—through training programs for the tourism sector, support for inclusive events, and collaboration with local communities to ensure that tourism growth benefits all residents equitably.
With its successful participation in the IGLTA 2025 Global Convention, Nayarit reaffirms its dedication to diversity, hospitality, and sustainability, positioning itself among Mexico’s most welcoming and vibrant destinations for LGBTQ+ travelers.
