RIVIERA NAYARIT, Mexico — Feb. 25, 2026 — Mexico’s Pacific coast is preparing to host one of its most spectacular moments of the year. From March 7–11, the Riviera Nayarit will become the stage for the most ambitious nautical event in Latin America’s history: Nayarit Sailing Week 2026.
Over five days, the deep blue waters of Banderas Bay will fill with sails, speed and international talent. More than 600 high-performance athletes and a fleet of more than 280 vessels are expected to compete in an event that blends world-class sport, coastal lifestyle and luxury tourism.
Nayarit Sailing Week is more than a regatta — it is a celebration of the sea, the wind and the maritime culture that defines this region of Mexico’s Pacific coastline.
A spectacle on the water
The 2026 edition will bring together six internationally recognized classes, delivering an experience for both seasoned sailors and newcomers to the sport:
- Optimist and ILCA, where future Olympic stars begin their journey.
- Techno 293 and IQFOIL, showcasing the adrenaline of windsurfing and the innovation of foiling technology.
- J70 and Ocean Class, featuring powerful keelboats that demand strategy, precision and teamwork.

The result will be a striking visual display of tactical maneuvers, close competition and sails stretched across the Nayarit horizon.
Three venues, one unforgettable experience
Competition will unfold across three strategic locations that combine premier infrastructure with exceptional natural scenery:
- Marina Riviera Nayarit
- Bucerías
- Paradise Village Marina
Each venue will allow visitors and competitors to enjoy not only the racing action but also golden beaches, dramatic sunsets and a high-end hospitality and dining scene.
Beyond sport: tourism, culture and coastal lifestyle
Nayarit Sailing Week positions Mexico firmly within the global sailing calendar while strengthening Riviera Nayarit’s international reputation as both a sports hub and travel destination.
In addition to on-water competition, the event will feature complementary programming highlighting adventure tourism, regional cuisine and maritime culture. Oceanfront dining, outdoor experiences and the cosmopolitan energy of the coastline will create a well-rounded experience for families, enthusiasts and international media alike.

Event organizer Sabino Producciones notes the regatta serves as a platform for both athletic and cultural exchange, bringing together renowned yacht clubs, coaches, Olympic sailors and emerging generations of competitors.
A must-attend event this March
With reliable wind conditions and established nautical infrastructure, Riviera Nayarit continues to affirm its role as a sailing capital of Mexico’s Pacific coast.
The countdown has begun. From March 7–11, 2026, the sea will serve as the stage, the wind as the driving force and Nayarit as host of an experience that merges sport, travel and global visibility.
