CALGARY, Alberta, November 13, 2025— The state of Nayarit, in partnership with Canadian airline WestJet, hosted an exclusive media dinner in Calgary as part of the international campaign “Fly to Nayarit, Connect with Mexico.” The event highlighted Nayarit’s most captivating travel experiences and promoted WestJet’s upcoming direct flight between Calgary and Riviera Nayarit, which begins service on Dec. 13, 2025.

The evening brought together some of Alberta’s most influential journalists and editors for an intimate look at Nayarit’s natural beauty and cultural richness — from the golden beaches of Riviera Nayarit and Punta Mita to its Pueblos Mágicos (Magical Towns), vibrant local cuisine, wellness retreats, and distinctive Wixárika art. Guests also learned about the state’s growing luxury offerings and sustainable tourism initiatives.

The new direct flight to Tepic, Nayarit’s capital located in the heart of the state, is expected to strengthen tourism ties between Western Canada and Mexico’s Pacific coast. The route will provide travelers from Alberta with easier access to a destination known for its authentic culture, refined experiences, and warm hospitality.
