Dallas, Tx – March 26, 2024 – The Ministry of Tourism for the State of Nayarit concluded their participation in the ‘Travel and Adventure Show’ held in Dallas, Texas. This event marked the final installment in a series of significant travel and tourism shows across North America.
Dallas, with a population of 2.6 million, is an area that boasts a substantial number of potential travelers to Nayarit and Mexico and it’s also home to the distribution center of the world’s largest airline. Currently, there are two airlines operating direct flights to the Bahía de Banderas area: American Airlines and Spirit Airlines. Additionally, starting May 16, Frontier Airlines will begin connecting Dallas daily to Bahía de Banderas, Guadalajara, and the recently inaugurated Riviera Nayarit International Airport in Tepic.
“For Nayarit and its tourism offerings, maintaining a presence at events that connect us with potential travelers is crucial. On this occasion, we engaged with over 8,000 attendees at the Dallas/Fort Worth event. Dallas is one of the key markets for Nayarit, to whom we showcase cultural and luxury attractions unlike any other destination. Our partnerships with tour operators, travel agencies, consulates, and the broader tourism industry are emphasized in this region,” stated Juan Enrique Suarez del Real Tostado, Secretary of Tourism for the State of Nayarit.
The Nayarit delegation had a busy schedule full of meetings with tour operators, travel agencies, media representatives, and business and tourism associations from Dallas. Additionally, meetings were held with representatives from Viva Aerobus and Copa Airlines, exploring joint promotional opportunities.
The Dallas Travel & Adventure Show draws over 8,000 attendees and features 400 exhibitors from all five continents. It stands as one of North America’s most significant trade and consumer travel fair series, offering insights, travel information, and expert advice. Attendees can plan future adventures while exploring a diverse range of exhibitors.
Exhibitors at this event include international convention organizers, tourism boards, tour operators, tourism providers, travel products, and travel suppliers from around the world. The event took place on March 23 and 24 at the Dallas Market Hall.
About Nayarit:
Nayarit is a state in western Mexico, nestled between the lush mountains of the Sierra Madre Occidental and the Pacific Ocean. Beyond its beaches, Nayarit boasts mountains, volcanoes, freshwater lagoons, colonial towns, and a rich cultural tapestry. The region is home to various indigenous ethnic groups, including the Coras, Huicholes, Tepehuanos, and Mexicaneros, who warmly welcome visitors, share their crafts, and celebrate their traditions. This area is often referred to as the Nayarit Valley.
On the other hand, Riviera Nayarit, with its 192 miles of coastline, harbors the colonial city of San Blas. The 16th-century San Basilio Fort once guarded the area against pirates. To the south lie the surfer-friendly beaches of Bahía de Matanchén, while to the north stands Isla de Mexcaltitán, considered the cradle of Aztec civilization.
