NEW YORK. Oct. 7, 2019 — Five hotels in the colonial city of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, were recognized by Condé Nast Traveler magazine today as ranking among the top 10 hotels in Mexico at its annual Readers’ Choice Awards. Winning properties include the Rosewood San Miguel de Allende, ranked the No. 1 hotel nationwide; Hotel Matilda, in second place; Sierra Nevada Belmond, at No. 4; and Dos Casas, in 10th place. Also appearing near the top of the list is Hotel Amparo, in 12th place.
“We congratulate the San Miguel de Allende properties that made this year’s list, as they are great examples of what our great city can offer our visitors. Each of the properties listed is an individual while embracing the spirit and brand of our beautiful city,” said Laura Torres-Septién, President of the San Miguel de Allende Hotel Association. “These five hotels show the great infrastructure found in our great city.”
The city of San Miguel de Allende was previous ranked as the “Best Small City in the World” at Condé Nast Traveler’s 2017 and 2018 Readers’ Choice Awards.
This year, San Miguel de Allende was named the Best City in Mexico for the fourth year running in Travel + Leisure magazine’s 2019 World’s Best Awards, where it also ranked as the 2nd Best City in the World.
More than 600,000 Condé Nast Traveler readers across the globe submitted a recording-breaking number of responses rating their travel experiences to provide a full snapshot of where and how we travel today.
