Tepic, Nayarit, MEXICO — Feb. 16, 2023 — The tourism benefits, attractions and new products on offer in the state of Nayarit — the “Treasure of the Mexican Pacific” — will be highlighted for an international audience of attendees at the “Gala Riviera Nayarit-Puerto Vallarta 2023.” The 28th annual addition of the leading event for the travel and tourism industry in the Mexican Pacific will take place Feb. 16 and 17 at the Grand Vidanta Convention Center, located in Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta. The purpose of this event is to further enhance the arrival of national and international visitors, mainly to the Bay of Banderas and the neighboring destinations of Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit.
Gala Riviera Nayarit-Puerto Vallarta 2023, hosted by the state of Nayarit and its governor, Miguel Ángel Navarro Quintero, is an important part of a new promotional campaign whose objective is to further tourism in the Riviera Nayarit and expand it across the state via its cultural and historical offer. Representatives from major airlines, over 100 hotels in the region and more than 70 Mexican and international wholesale travel agencies from Canada, Spain and the U.S. are expected to conduct some 1,500 business appointments that should help boost the destination.
Subjects that the state of Nayarit will promote at the event include new hotel infrastructure — with various property openings slated for 2023 to be announced — and, the expansion of the airport, an investment of over 1.7 billion pesos, that will increase connectivity to local area destinations such as: San Blas, Guayabitos in Compostela, Sayulita, San Pancho, Punta Mita and Litibú to mention a few micro destinations in the Riviera Nayarit. And those close to Tepic, the state capital, such as Santa María del Oro, Jala, Ahuacatlán, Ixtlán del Rio and Amatlán de Cañas.
In addition to meetings at the event itself, wholesalers, tour operators, media and dignitaries will have the chance to learn about local lodging, experiences and other tourism products offered by Nayarit via site visits, tours and special events, in order to get a well-rounded overview of all that’s on offer across the state.
Gala Riviera Nayarit-Puerto Vallarta 2023 will have special sections to serve two important market segments for the region — romance travel and LGBTQ+ tourism — another pavilion that will exhibit the tourist offer of the entire state and special pavilions for the Magical Towns of Nayarit: Compostela, Jala, Mexcaltitan and Sayulita. The intention is to promote mobility through the show floor so participants stay longer and obtain a complete vision of everything that Nayarit has to offer in terms of tourism.
The inauguration ceremony for the gala will be attended by the Secretaries of Tourism of Jalisco and Nayarit states; the presidents of the hotel associations of both destinations; and authorities from other municipal and state entities.
In this 2023 edition of the Riviera Nayarit-Puerto Vallarta Gala, important commercial agreements will be signed that will benefit the industry, while promoting air and land connectivity, infrastructure, news, as well as tourism offers for each market segment.
