From May 16 to 21, 2024, Nayarit hosted the Canadian television program “The Travel Guys.” This event, designed to promote the state’s tourism offerings with a focus on travel among friends, included eco-adventure activities, golf, and attendance at the beer festival in Tepic. During their stay, participants were accommodated at the Gran Matlali hotel. The main objective of this trip was to produce a one-hour television program aimed at the Canadian market, highlighting the diverse attractions and experiences that Nayarit has to offer.
The itinerary began on Thursday, May 16, with the team’s arrival and transfer to the Gran Matlali hotel, where they enjoyed a leisurely dinner. On Friday, May 17, after an early breakfast, they headed to the Tierra Tropical Beach Club for lunch and then moved on to the Tierra Tropical Polo Club to witness an exciting polo match. Later, they traveled to Tepic and dined at Las Pampas, sampling the high cuisine and fusion of Nayarit gastronomy. On Saturday, May 18, they participated in the Nayarit Beer Festival, had lunch at Loma 42 Tepic, and visited Emilianos Tepic.
On Sunday, May 19, they set out for San Pancho, had lunch at Don Pedro’s, and then explored Sayulita, known for its excellent surfing and bohemian atmosphere. Afterward, they moved to Punta Mita and enjoyed free time before dinner at the hotel. On Monday, May 20, they visited the Higuera Golf Club in Litibú and returned to the hotel for leisure time. Finally, on Tuesday, May 21, it was the day of the return trip, departing from the hotel and taking the flight back to Vancouver.
“The Travel Guys,” hosted by Jim Gordon and Darren Parkman, and supported by Janos Molnar and David Martin in production and camera, is a long-running Canadian television program that has filmed in over 20 countries since its launch in 2003. This visit not only promotes Nayarit as a top-tier tourist destination but also showcases the state’s cultural and natural richness, from its beaches and jungles to its vibrant culinary and entertainment scene.
