Merida, Yucatán; September 20, 2021.- Mexico’s Ministry of Tourism and the Government of Yucatan, through a video, reinforced the invitation to the tourism industry – in Mexico and other countries -, to participate in the 45th edition of the Tianguis Turistico Mexico, to be held from November 16 – 19 in the state of Yucatan.

This being the most important tourism event in Mexico and Latin America and given the current conditions that are experienced globally resulting from the Covid-19 crisis, completing this event is of great importance. The participation of the 32 Mexican states, a diversity of exhibitors, academics, artisans, gastronomic exhibitors, and much more is confirmed and buyers and media from 70 countries are expected to attend.

In addition to extending the invitation to participate in the 2021 edition of Tianguis Turistico, the governor of Yucatán, Mauricio Vila Dosal, stressed that they would have representatives of the tourism industry and businessmen from around the world, offering a unique opportunity for the exchange of ideas and business opportunities that will result in successful meetings.

“In Yucatán, we are ready to make this event unforgettable, with the best spaces and innovation in the tourism and meetings industry.”

He stated that a priority for this event will be sanitary safety, as Tianguis Turistico will be held under the highest biosecurity standards that will guarantee the health of all attendees.

Michelle Fridman Hirsch, Ministry of Tourism of Yucatan, emphasized that, after waiting more than 15 months, this event is more relevant than ever, as it represents a new beginning for the tourism industry in Mexico, one of the most important in the country and that has been so hurt by the recent crises. “After a long wait, we are convinced that this is the necessary showcase for a better recovery.”

Today, in Mexico and the world, tourism has had to reform, rebuild and adapt and, in that sense, Yucatán has been an example of resilience, in addition to its great natural, architectural and gastronomic beauties, it is the place of origin, “is the place where the world, as we know it, was born 64 million years ago, endless stories and cultures, species and experiences have originated here, and also here, during the 45th edition of the Tianguis, we will see the industry reborn “, commented Fridman.

“We’ve work hard to make this the first Tianguis Turistico of a new era, a memorable and successful event that will mark the rebirth of tourism in Mexico; we work with commitment and close communication with the different levels of government to offer a quality event, with an important list of buyers and media from more than 70 countries that will bring more tourism to our destinations”.

Mexico’s Minister of Tourism, Miguel Torruco Marqués emphasized that the objective of this great event is to encourage the destination’s marketing and promotion strategies, as well as its multiple products and services to tourism representatives and businessmen from around the world.

Reinforcing what was mentioned by Vila Dosal, Mexico’s Ministry of Tourism highlighted that a priority will be sanitary security, and that all activities will be developed under necessary preventive measures indicated by the Mexican Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization.

“We will show that, despite the pandemic, our tourism activity continues to strengthen without putting at risk the health of service providers, buyers, suppliers, and visitors in general.”

This edition, as previous ones, will be conformed by exhibition areas, stands, regional rooms, advertising spaces, business tables and an auditorium for keynote speeches.

“This great event will revitalize our sector and contribute significantly to the repositioning of Mexico as a destination in the international tourism showcase,” concluded Torruco Marqués.
