Montréal, Québec July 29,2026 — Nayarit continues to strengthen its presence in the international tourism market with a series of strategic meetings and media engagements in Montréal as part of Mexico’s Tourism Promotion Caravan. The promotional mission is focused on reinforcing Nayarit’s position as one of the preferred winter travel destinations for Canadian visitors.
The day’s agenda opened with a high-level meeting with executives from Montréal–Trudeau International Airport to discuss opportunities for strengthening air connectivity between Canada, the United States, and Mexico. During the meeting, representatives highlighted the progress of the new Riviera Nayarit International Airport, presenting it as a transformative gateway that will enhance access to the destination and support the state’s continued tourism growth.
Officials also shared updates on Nayarit’s expanding international air service, including new routes from Canada and the United States. The presentation showcased collaborative marketing initiatives with airline partners such as WestJet, United Airlines, and Volaris, as well as ongoing efforts with ALG Vacations to strengthen the destination’s presence across the North American travel market.
Later in the day, Nayarit hosted a media luncheon with leading Québec-based publications and outlets, including La Presse, PAX Media, Ottawa Life Magazine, La Tribune, and Noovo. The delegation also met with the Lifestyle & Fashion Director of ELLE Canada to introduce the destination’s diverse tourism offerings.
Presentations highlighted Nayarit’s unique blend of cultural heritage, luxury travel experiences, sports tourism, and community-based tourism, emphasizing the destination’s appeal to a broad range of Canadian travelers seeking authentic and memorable experiences.
To celebrate the state’s rich cultural identity, attending media received handcrafted Wixárika artwork, showcasing one of Mexico’s most vibrant Indigenous artistic traditions. Discussions also advanced plans for potential media familiarization trips during the upcoming fall and winter seasons.
The promotional mission will continue with additional meetings and marketing initiatives designed to further strengthen Nayarit’s visibility in the Québec market, an important source of international visitors during the winter travel season.
As Nayarit continues to expand its international partnerships and improve air connectivity, the destination remains committed to welcoming more Canadian travelers with its world-class beaches, vibrant culture, exceptional gastronomy, and authentic hospitality.
