Riviera Nayarit Expands Luxury Hospitality Portfolio With Wave of InternationalHotel Openings and Investments

Ultra-luxury resorts, wellness-focused concepts, and secluded coastal developments continue redefining Mexico’s Pacific luxury landscape

RIVIERA NAYARIT, Mexico — Riviera Nayarit is experiencing an unprecedented wave of luxury hospitality growth as internationally recognized hotel brands and global investors accelerate development across Mexico’s Pacific coastline, further positioning the destination as one of the Americas’ emerging hubs for secluded, experiential, and nature-driven luxury travel.

Already well known for its highly concentrated luxury offering in the Punta Mita region of the state, the past 12 months — and continuing into 2026 — Riviera Nayarit has seen a major expansion of ultra-luxury resorts, boutique hideaways, branded residences, and wellness-oriented hospitality concepts designed for travelers seeking privacy, exclusivity, and immersive experiences surrounded by jungle, mountains, and the Pacific Ocean.

The North part of Riviera Nayarit has seen some of the most significant recent openings. Siari, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Riviera Nayarit is an ultra-luxury property featuring 91 guestrooms and 34 branded residences, emphasizing low-density hospitality and deep integration with the surrounding natural environment. As one of Marriott International’s most exclusive luxury concepts, the resort further elevates
Riviera Nayarit’s growing reputation within the global ultra-luxury travel market. In addition, Rosewood Mandarina, the highly anticipated ultra-luxury resort located within the Mandarina master development. Nestled between jungle-covered mountains and the Pacific Ocean, the property has quickly become one of the region’s defining luxury experiences, emphasizing privacy, wellness, sustainability, and immersive nature-driven travel. The resort joins the already established One&Only Mandarina in elevating the
area’s international luxury profile.

Also recently opened is UNICO 20°105° Hotel Vallarta, a new adults-only beachfront luxury resort featuring 141 guestrooms designed around immersive local experiences, wellness, elevated gastronomy, and contemporary luxury. The property expands Riviera Nayarit’s appeal among upscale couples and experiential travelers seeking a more intimate and sophisticated all-inclusive offering on Mexico’s Pacific Coast.

Luxury expansion within Punta Mita also continues at a rapid pace. Montage and Pendry Punta Mita, both scheduled to open in 2026, will introduce two additional internationally recognized luxury hospitality brands to the destination. Together, the projects are expected to add more than 250 guestrooms and approximately 120 branded residences within the exclusive Punta Mita development, reinforcing the area’s reputation as one of Mexico’s premier enclaves for affluent and multi-generational
travelers.

The region’s hospitality evolution increasingly reflects a shift toward experiential and lifestyle-driven luxury. In Sayulita, Meliá Hotels International’s Zel Sayulita, will mark the first Mexican property for the lifestyle brand created in partnership with tennis legend Rafael Nadal. The 145-room resort will introduce a Mediterranean-inspired hospitality concept centered on wellness, outdoor living, gastronomy, and social connection, blending European lifestyle aesthetics with Riviera Nayarit’s bohemian surf culture.

Further strengthening the destination’s ultra-luxury appeal is Belmond Milaroca, a new 57-room luxury property designed in harmony with Riviera Nayarit’s jungle landscape.

The resort will focus on highly personalized service, privacy, and architecture integrated into the natural environment — a defining characteristic increasingly associated with the destination’s luxury identity.
The destination is also seeing significant reinvestment in existing hospitality infrastructure. In Nuevo Nayarit, the former Riu Jalisco property has undergone a major transformation into the new Riu Flamingos, offering a renewed all-inclusive experience as international hotel groups continue modernizing and repositioning properties across the region.

These openings and renovations are part of a broader hospitality and tourism investment boom taking place throughout the state of Nayarit. According to industry reports, at least 15 new hotel developments are expected to open by 2026, including projects backed by major international hospitality groups and European investors increasingly drawn to Riviera Nayarit’s long-term growth potential.

Industry analysts point to several factors fueling Riviera Nayarit’s rise within the global luxury travel sector, including improved infrastructure, expanded international air connectivity, growing global media recognition, and the destination’s unique balance between exclusivity and authenticity.

Unlike more saturated beach markets, Riviera Nayarit has cultivated a luxury identity rooted in low-density development, conservation, wellness, and immersive nature experiences. From Punta Mita and Sayulita to Mandarina and the northern coastline, luxury travelers increasingly seek out the destination for its secluded beaches, lush jungle landscapes, indigenous cultural heritage, and highly personalized hospitality offerings.

The destination’s growth is also being supported by infrastructure improvements throughout the state, including expanded highway connectivity and the continued development of Riviera Nayarit International Airport (TPQ), which is expected to strengthen access to both coastal and inland luxury developments.

As international investment continues accelerating and globally recognized brands establish a presence throughout the region, Riviera Nayarit is rapidly emerging as one of the most dynamic luxury hospitality markets in the Americas — offering travelers a new generation of secluded, wellness-focused, and experience-driven luxury travel on Mexico’s Pacific Coast.
